VINCI Construction UK has been selected by Veolia’s development partner, Opus Land to construct a new environmentally friendly turnkey office building for Veolia Environmental Services.
Once complete, the new facility will feature three storeys and over 40,000 square feet of BREEAM Excellent offices at the Kingswood Lakeside site in Cannock, Staffordshire.
The new office will include environmental technologies such as roof-mounted solar panels which will provide domestic hot water, a rainwater collection system and energy-saving light sensors.
Melanie Booth, Opus Construction Director said “VINCI Construction UK were selected because of their ability to take an alternative approach to contracting, which is essential in overcoming the current financial and economic constraints that developers are faced with.”
Tom Spaul, Chief Operating Officer at Veolia Environmental Services said: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with Opus Land and VINCI Construction UK to deliver our new environmentally friendly regional office. This project has moved at pace since submitting the planning application in December 2009 and we are looking forward to moving into the new offices in the summer of 2011.”
