VINCI Construction UK Finds True Value From Site Investigation

VINCI Construction UK has once again proven itself to be at the forefront of new technologies and rethinking current practices to maximise value from site investigation.

At a recent event hosted by Peter Redford, MD of VINCI Construction UK Soil Engineering, leading experts including Professor Chris Clayton outlined how they are innovating to combine new techniques and approaches by integrating the geotechnical expertise of contractors and engineers to save significant time and costs. This has long been recognised as an area of major technical and financial risk,

“Ground engineering risk is one of the largest elements of technical and financial risk in civil engineering and building construction” ICE 1991 LETTLEJOHN ET AL.

Presentations on core topics such as; Drilling Parameter Recording, CoreScan II and EC7 soil sampling all demonstrated how cutting-edge technologies improve accuracy, quality and efficiency within site investigation. Intelligent Site Investigation Services (ISIS) combine the Design and Consent stages of site investigation (both of which utilise archaeological and geotechnical expertise) to reduce time required on site by almost 50 per cent. This in turn minimises disruption, provides a faster and more cost effective service for the client, reduces risk and significantly reduces costs.

Clients such as Crossrail are already acknowledging the benefits of utilising these highly accurate and reliable measurement systems.
